In Val Claret, you’ll find the party scene along with the real centre of the ski area with bars and lifts all grouped in one area, no matter where you stay you’ll never be far from either.
Tignes forms the upper half of the breath-taking Espace Killy ski area with over 300km of immaculate slopes this is one of the top ski areas in the world. The range of terrain makes Tignes the perfect place for beginners and advanced riders.
With the village located at 1810m at the base and the highest skiable point reaching a height of 3,456 Tignes is a high altitude town and this altitude means it is one of the most snow sure ski resorts in the French alps.
A favourite with locals, this ski in, ski out establishment was started by two brothers who did season after season finally settling in Tignes. Expect a huge terrace, live DJ’s and big screens showing live sport. Make sure you check out their social for more details on happy hour and drinks deals.
Dropzone is a laid back bar with good vibes and good music. Inspired by extreme sports, dropzone is now a multicultural and open minded café/ restaurant boasting international DJ’s and excellent food. In the heart of Val Claret it has the biggest south facing terrace in all of Tignes. With a three hour happy hour and located a stones throw from the slopes, this is a great spot for après.
Couloir bar is located at the end of Val Claret nearest the chairlift for the Grande Motte. It is the place to be for live music with a mix of bands and DJ’s as well as a funk and soul night once a week. With good food and drinks along with a restaurant upstairs this place has the whole package.
Grizzly’s is a log cabin with a lovely warm and woody interior, complete with fireplace and fur rugs as well as an outdoor fire pit. If you’re looking for a slightly quieter après this is a great place for a vin chaud or a hot chocolate and it’s one of the most attractive venues in Tignes.
Tignes cuisine offers fresh exciting flavours in the mountains at excellent value. Located at the base of the slopes in Le Lac you can ski to their terrace for fast and fun Asian cuisine.
An amazing place for fondue and raclette, authentic and traditional located on a Savoyard farm, this restaurant offers amazing service and great food. They obtained the Master restaurant label in 2015 and is a favourite of locals and tourists.
Cheap easy and hassle free. Great pizza for good value, this restaurant comes highly recommended from thrifty travellers to holiday makers and families who fancy a quick and easy meal located really close to the base of two lifts: Bollin and Tufs.
