How can I make the most of Plagne Soleil/Villages ski holidays?

Perched at the heady, snow-sure height of 2050m, Plagne Villages and Plagne Soleil are La Plagne's two smallest villages and among its highest resorts along with Belle Plagne and Plagne Aime 2000.

When you’re looking for a French Alps ski holiday which is family-focused but offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding opportunities for all levels of enthusiasts, the neighbouring villages of Plagne Soleil and Plagne Villages are a superb choice.

Although they’re two of the smaller villages in La Plagne, they compete with Belle Plagne in terms of elevation as they’re perched above Plagne Centre at the heady, snow-sure height of 2050m, where you’re afforded awesome views across the valley to majestic Mont Blanc.

Both villages provide easy access to all 225km of the pistes of La Plagne which is part of the huge Paradiski area, which boasts a further 200kms of world-class runs on the Les Arcs side of the Vanoise Express Cable Car.

Plagne Soleil and Plagne Villages are so close by road and skis that there’s often no distinction between them, although each has its unique charms.

Plagne Villages has convenient access to superb skiing and facilities – an ESF ski school, ski hire shop and pedestrian lift which links it conveniently to Plagne Centre.

Meanwhile, Plagne Soleil has seen more recent additions to the list of residences there and it’s a short 10-minute stroll from Plagne Villages. It also offers brilliant ski-in/ski-out access from all accommodation options.

The two villages sit in the middle of multiple cruisey blue runs which sweep down into Plagne Centre, the gateway to the rest of the resort’s wider network of runs, and it’s always nice to start your day’s Alpine adventures by skiing rather than sitting in a chairlift. Getting back up to your accommodation is easy because you can easily hop back on the same blue runs from Bellecôte and Plagne Centre, and Plagne Soleil and Plagne Villages are clearly signposted from lifts and strategic points on all runs.

With small beginner ski areas in both of these villages, ample off-slope activities and après-ski for all the family in easy reach throughout La Plagne and some of the best ski conditions anywhere in the world, either of these villages is a terrific choice for a family ski holiday. If you want to arrange a customised ski holiday that satisfies the unique needs of every member of your party, Erna Low has the passion, professionalism and expertise to help you every step of the way.
