You don’t have to go all the way to the alps to get that apres feeling!

Bodo Schloss’ Kensington Alpine cabin – complete with festive gingham, lederhosen and cowhide throws – is the ideal place to indulge in the delights of traditional Austrian cuisine, but this winter ski-loving revellers can look forward to partying hard with DJs, delicious alpine-inspired fare and complimentary Champagne cocktails. Bodo Schloss will be adorned in chic décor, and there will even be snow cannons blasting artificial snow outside, as well as a ski simulator for thrill-seekers to test out their skills.

Bringing a slice of the Alps to South London, The Lodge’s cosy wooden chalet hopes to transport diners to the snowy slopes of Verbier. Decorated in rustic woods, wall-mounted skis and shaggy sheepskin rugs, this quaint hideaway is a heavenly spot if you want to get into the traditional après spirit. Naturally, the hero dish is the Swiss fondue, but other delights on the menu include reblochon and smoked bacon croquettes, gin cured salmon, wild boar sausages and charcuterie with pickles. Warm the cockles with one of their hot toddies or the Baked Alaska Buttered Rum.

It might be a little on the chilly side for rooftop entertaining, but once you step foot into Selfridges magical alpine forest, we doubt you’ll even notice the cold. Des McDonald (of Q Grill, Vintage Salt and Holborn Dining Room) will be transforming the roof of Selfridges into a whimsical winter wonderland, complete with outdoor lodges, a glitter ball walkway and a cabin bar serving up delicious ‘choctails’. Food offerings will focus on British ingredients, so look forward to the likes of braised ox cheek served with grilled polenta, organic salmon with wilted fennel and Cornish clams and Highland venison fillet with bashed neeps and a sour cherry sauce.
